Saturday Church begins in 5 hours

I can't wait. At 5:30pm today we have our small launch of Saturday Church. I am blown away by the way that God's people have been pulling together to make this happen.

Some encouragements:
1. I received an e-mail from Peter Sholl, our CMS link missionary in Mexico. With all the problems going on in Mexico, he wrote to tell me that he'd heard we're starting a new Saturday Church and has been praying for it.

2. I turn up to church and six men from Saturday Church are building a pergola as a cover for the new seven burner custom built industrial BBQ that they organised for the Saturday Church. Their enthusiasm and use of their gifts is amazing.

3. I just met some beautiful saints from the 8:30 traditional service, Marjorie and Leila. They were so excited about a service which they were not a part of. I asked them to pray for us. They said that they already have been.

Thanks be to God!!!!

Ben, Saturday Church was brilliant. It was only our soft launch. The big, public launch is this Saturday. However, the way that God has used people with all sorts of gifts has been brilliant. We are starting with about sixty adults and forty kids. They are all so keen. Yesterday my third son had to write a story and he wrote one about Saturday Church.

I'll write more about it later. But one of the best things is our leadership team which has met ever two weeks for the last couple of months. We meet in someones backyard around a "camp fire" and make the plans. I'll let you know offline who is in this team - but it is quality and there are many who are not in the leadership team who definitely could be.

Saturday Church has also opened my mind to how many in Sunday Evening Church have also been gifted by God and whom we need to enable to use their gifts even more.

I hope to post more tomorrow.
