Thanks AB. It will be hard. But all ministry is, right?
The video was interesting. The best lesson is that Starbucks think about everything carefully to make sure that it is right. "The people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light" etc etc.
I was struck by the "managers parking" etc. No business would think about doing that.
The problem with the video is that it assumes, deep down, that the two can be compared. That is, that people should have a similar experience. I'd like to ask -- what could church be compared to?
An extended family gathering? A synagogue? The way we operate them, they are more like small country clubs.

Church is not starbucks...
:)
... and the coffee at our church is better than Starbucks.
I'm really excited about your news!!! Fantastic. I heard that someone overseas was thinking about that job and I was hoping it was you.
That's two lessons:
1. Church is not starbucks
2. Our coffee is better
Maybe they're not the intended points of this parable ... but hey they are still right.
BTW. I thought this video should have been a bit funnier as well ... it would have made easier to watch and re-watch.

Still thinking...
Funnier!? How could it be any more funny? That's gold!
3) Things we think look good actually just look lame...
