yeah - I think that's right.... especially when you see the Sermon on the Mt in light of Matt 1-4: The stylised genealogy, the 'exodus' from Egypt the temptation in the wilderness, the choosing of the 12 etc...
Matthew is showing how Jesus is what the whole OT is pointing to.
