Hi Andrew,

This post was shared with me by a good friend.

My first thought on this video was that the speaker comes across as very arrogant.

I am a Christian and I am not going to pretend that I have got it altogether and I admit that some of the things this guy says apply to me, but even with that being said I just found him very arrogant in his delivery of what he has to say.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that what he is sharing is important and needs to be said but, for me at least, this was not the most effective way to say it.

Thanks.

C!

PS. When I shared with my friend that sent me the vid that I thought this guy came across as arrogant his response was "...I think too often whenever someone says something like that, we write it off as them being arrogant". BURN :)

Hi Callum. Interesting. I think I'd need to listen to his other material. I didn't detect arrogance - but rather zeal. You may be right though.

I'd like to see how he preaches about assurance as well to get a fuller picture. ;) Thanks for commenting. AB

Thanks Andrew.

It should be noted that I have no idea who this guy actually is and have not heard any of his other preaching before.

I guess there is a fine line that exists between coming across passionate (which I believe this guy is!!) and arrogant.

Thanks.

C!

Hey AB - I am the good friend that burned Callum :)

I've seen this video floating around for a few days, but didn't watch it until today. It's something that I've been feeling for a while.

I think we definitely need to hear the other side of the story too - taken purely on its own, this can almost seem like works-based salvation.

I think Paul put it very well.

I am praying.

Hi Rodeo. Do you think the message on this video needs airplay?

There is something deep and profound that it resonates with the teaching of Jesus about total commitment that I find really appealing. That being said - Paul puts it really well in the verses you mention.

Also Callum. A friend of Rodeo's is a friend of mine.

I think the message in the video definitely needs to be heard. Whether in this mode or not, I can't say.

Also, as you pointed out, it really also needs to have the assurance aspect highlighted as well.

But I do think there are too many people who assume they are saved because they got sprinkled as a baby and took holy communion as a kid.
